Mary Rollins LOVES to knit and helps others find the just right yarn they need for their projects. Before working at Castaway Yarns, she spent her career in nursing. She's been knitting for about 8 years. Mary is wonderful at answering any knitting questions you may have! Martha Dragich learned to sew at an early age, and took up knitting when she retired about 7 years ago from the MU Law School faculty. She has experience with garment construction and fit, and loves working with the colors and textures of yarn. She also likes to try new techniques for making sweaters, such as the Cocoknits Method and can answer all your questions about that. Kendra Feltych has been knitting since she was 8 years old, or about 65 years, so you could say she is the most experienced knitter around! She's great at helping people with knitting problems and is very patient! Vickie
Spain has been knitting for over 35 years and worked in a couple of our local yarn stores between teaching jobs. Before opening Castaway Yarns, she was a mathematics/science educator with a PhD in Mathematics Education. She loves helping customers decide what they would like to knit, what yarn would be a perfect fit for their projects, how to knit, and assisting when knitting problems arise. WE ALL look forward to seeing you in the shop! :-)
Shop Policies
Return Policy
We are happy to exchange or return yarn within 30 days of purchase that meet the following conditions:

Is in our system or accompanied with a receipt,

Was not purchased on clearance (40% OFF) sale,

If the yarn to be returned is currently on Special sale (25% Off or less), then you'll receive the sale price,

Was not a special order,
-
Has not been wound or used, and
-
Has been kept in a clean and odor free environment.

A restocking fee of 15% of original purchase will be charged on returns of 10 skeins or more.

There are no exchanges or returns on needles, books, patterns, or clearance sale items.
Class Policy

Missed classes will not be made up unless the instructor was unable to teach or the shop was closed to inclement weather.

Refunds for missed classes will not be made.

Refunds for pre-paid class registrations will be made only if we are notified at least 2 weeks in advance of the beginning of the class.
Winding Yarn
We are happy to wind yarns purchased at the shop. Yarns on sale at 40% OFF will cost $4.00 to wind.
Pattern Copies
Printing fees for ALL patterns are $0.50 per page.
